PC hosting Hoop Reunion: Pitino, Donovan, Barnes, Gillen & Many More

So what would you may to mingle with and hear from Ed Cooley, Rick Pitino, Billy Donovan, Tim Welsh, Pete Gillen and Rick Barnes all at the same time?

That’s exactly what the Providence College athletic department is offering its fans later this month. On July 28th each of those coaches – we know, Billy D will always be known as a Final Four star player around here – will sharing a stage and answering questions about the impact of their time at PC. The host of the talk will be another Friar star of stars: Doris Burke of ESPN fame.

PC’s season ticket holders and the general public have been invited to the Friars Legacy Coaches Roundtable event. Admission is a donation of $500 that will both support Friends of Friar Basketball and help seed the Name-Image-Likeness pool that the current Providence College players can tap into in the coming years Friends of friar Basketball has been in existence for over a decade and aims to assist former Friar players in need and community initiatives in the Providence area.

Players from the 1987 Final Four and 1997 Elite Eight teams are all invited back to campus for a long weekend. So are many, many more from over the years.

On Friday night, July 29th, the Friends group is also hosting a Friar Basketball Player reunion that features a Boston Harbor cruise. A limited amount of tickets are available to season ticket holders only for the cruise as well. Players like Ryan Gomes, Ernie DiGregorio, Eric Williams and Michael Smith to Weyimi Efejuku, Michael Brown, Carson Desrosiers and many more have expressed a desire to attend.
