These are not normal times in higher education, athletics or in any part of Bob Driscoll’s world.

Providence College’s long-time athletic director checked in on the YouTube Game Preview series and fills us in on several challenging issues in the Friar community. A few highlights:

*Driscoll is not attending PC’s athletic home games. He feels he is not `essential’ and believes in keeping the bubble around the competing teams a safe one.

*Supplying mental coaching and support to Ed Cooley and all of his coaches take on an even higher level of importance during a pandemic.

*Hockey coach Nate Leaman is in Alberta, Canada coaching the United States in the Junior World Championships. Driscoll is still in touch with his coach and supports the assistant coaches leading the way back at home.

*The Big East Tournament is still slated to be played at Madison Square garden – even without fans.
