Kevin McNamara visits with departing URI Athletic Director, Thorr Bjorn, to recount 18 successful years in Rhode Island and explain why now it’s time for a new challenge.

Bjorn has overseen URI football’s ascension into a Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) powerhouse in the NCAA Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) under Jim Fleming. But that was not easy. Bjorn tells how it all happened. He also hired Dan Hurley and rode his rising star to two NCAA Tournament wins. That was not easy either.

Now, Bjorn looks to rebuild a UMass football program on the verge of going winless this season in the Mid-American Conference (MAC).
