The Big East has unveiled the remainder of its men’s basketball schedule with no surprises – or bubbles.
The Big East’s post-Christmas through March schedule was released Monday and the conference is choosing to hope and pray that the traditional `travel model’ will hold. Teams will travel from school to school and not congregate in a bubble format. At least that’s the plan right now.
The league will have to reschedule three Providence postponed games: home vs. Xavier, Connecticut and DePaul. The current schedule includes 10 road games and seven home games. PC is set to begin Big East play Dec. 20 at Seton Hall and then Dec. 23 at Butler.
The Big East currently has no games scheduled for the Friars – and few around the league – for Feb. 7-12 and Feb. 21-26. Those weeks will act as cushions where games can be rescheduled but it is clear that college basketball will see a host of postponements on a weekly basis so the needed flexibility will prove valuable.
Here is PC’s schedule:
DECEMBER
20 at Seton Hall; 23 at Butler; 30 vs. Butler
JANUARY
2 vs. Creighton; 10 at Xavier; 13 at Marquette; 16 vs. Georgetown; 20 at Creighton; 23 at Villanova; 27 vs. Marquette; 30 at Georgetown.
FEBRUARY
3 vs. Seton Hall; 6 vs. St. John’s; 13 at DePaul; 16 at UConn
MARCH
